Watercolor

Dress: Hunter Bell c/o AshleGryre // Shoes: Tory Burch (old similar here and here) // Sunnies: RayBan // Bracelets: David Yurman, Ali Grace, and Madewell // Necklace: Elephant- J.Crew Factory

The effortless polish and flowing silhouette of a maxi dress makes it perfect for any summer occasion, especially for a night at the beach.  This one in particular is so feminine with it's pastel watercolor print I feel like a mermaid...sans-scales of course. I suppose the real reason that maxi dresses are so appealing comes from playing dress up as a little girl; any skirt with movement is just plain fun.

Off the Grid

Skirt: Bec & Bridge c/o Mulberry Dreams // Top: Target (old, similar here) // Jacket: BCBG (30% off today) // Shoes: Birkenstock for J.Crew // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Bag: DVF

It has without a doubt been a crazy holiday weekend! I was in my best friend's wedding, Rob came into town, and I officially started prepping for the bar exam. With everything on my plate, I have felt like I have been 'off the grid' when it comes to blogging and all social media lately. Either way, It is great to be back to balancing life as usual. This outfit is also a balancing act, as it walks the line between sophisticated and casual. This skirt could have been easily paired with pumps or a heeled sandal, but my metallic Birkenstocks were a pleasantly comfortable option that in my opinion gave off a cooler vibe. I hope everyone enjoys the short week, and thank you as always for reading.

Ethereal

Dress: Grethel c/o AshleGryre // Vest: Greylin c/o AshleyGryre // Shoes: Sam Edelman (old but love these here) // Clutch: Tory Burch (old, similar here) // Sunnies: Rayban // Lips: Tom Ford 'Pink Dusk'

Hello everyone! This light and airy maxi simply feels amazing. It's sheer gauzy fabric is weightless, and the matching slip underneath is constructed of the softest cotton. Calling all brides, this would be the perfect dress to pack for a honeymoon. The coolest part about this dress is that I had the privilege of meeting the designers at an AshleGryre event.  Melissa and Camilla are sisters from Colombia and this designing duo is equally as lovely as their array of feminine boho-chic styles. I loved chatting with them, as well as having the opportunity to get a sneak peak of their holiday collection (available at AshleGryre in the fall/winter). Some of my favorites from the collection include a metallic maxi and a chic deep-v navy tuxedo dress. It is not even June, and I am already planning my holiday party outfits! Too soon? I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and thank you as always for reading.

White Gladiator

Sandals: Stuart Weitzman (also here) // Shorts: Zara // Shirt: Madewell (old, similar here) // Blazer: Banana Republic (old, similar here) // Bracelets: David Yurman and Ali Grace // Sunnies: RayBan // Lips: NARS 'Viva Las Vegas'

I have finally made the permanent move from Mississippi back to my home in Florida. Being in a tropical environment has had several notable effects including, but not limited to: humidity frizz, an emerging tan, and the constant urge to wear all white. My favorite accent to an all white ensemble is definitely gold, or any metallic for that matter. I have wanted these metallic Stuart Weitzman gladiators for quite a while, so when it came time to purchase myself a graduation present I thought they would be perfect. It turns out, that I was right. I have the distinct feeling that these dramatic sandals will be getting a lot of wear this summer! I hope everyone has a great weekend, and thank you as always for reading!

Overall Prep

Blazer: J.Crew // Overalls: Topshop (last seen here) // Blouse: J.Crew (similar here)// Shoes: J.Crew // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Bag: Celine // Bracelets: Ali Grace and David Yurman // Ring: David Yurman // Lips: NARS Schiap

Hello Everyone! I strive to see things in my closet in more than one way. For example, I love to dress-down a sequin dress with a denim jacket, or play up a simple tee with a dramatic skirt. So, when styling my overalls I pulled together my most ladylike pieces like this metallic tweed blazer and my favorite silver pointed pumps. Even my blouse has a touch of bling at the neck. All of these shiny and feminine accents make my edgy dungarees ladies-who-lunch appropriate (well, almost.) I hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and always, thank you for reading!!

LBD

Dress: Bec and Bridge c/o Mulberry Dreams // Shoes: Christian Louboutin (borrowed from Lauren of Sunshades and Snowflakes) // Necklace: AshleGryre // Clutch: Old (similar here) // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lips: Nars 'Dragon Girl'

A little black dress is just as essential to a complete wardrobe as a good pair of jeans. When I wear my LBD, I like to stick with the classics: nude pumps and a bright red lip. However, this little Bec and Bridge LBD from Mulberry Dreams is not the typical.... it has a sporty element with the linear racer back, and a girly touch with the flounce at the hem. So, to play up it's unique elements, I added a very modern 3-D lucite statement necklace. My friend Lauren continually kept calling this necklace,"a work of art." Well, in keeping with Lauren's sentiment, the thing I love about LBDs are they are the perfect "blank canvas" allowing accessories to pop. I hope everyone is having a great week, and thank you for reading!

Southern Sunday

Top: Zara // Skirt: ASOS // Shoes: Tory Burch // Bag: Tory Burch // Earrings: J.Crew (similar here) // Ring: David Yurman // Bracelets: Ali Grace and David Yurman // Lips: Tom Ford 'Pink Dusk'

It is official, I am finished with law school! When Charles Dickens wrote, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" he must have been referring to a legal education. Law school has felt like the fastest, yet slowest three years of my life. I seriously cannot believe I am graduating and saying farewell to Oxford in only one week. With this being my last normal weekend in Mississippi, I was really happy that one of my dearest friends Lauren came into town. We had a lovely traditional southern brunch, complete with fried green tomatoes on eggs benedict and blood orange mimosas. It was the perfect end to a whirlwind of a weekend, and a great excuse to wear my favorite midi skirt. I hope everyone has a great week, and as always thank you for reading. Also, don't forget to check out Lauren's blog here. xo

Lemon Fresh

Jacket: Bec and Bridge c/o Mulberry Dreams // Shirt: Zara // Skirt: J.Crew // Clutch: Loeffler Randall // Shoes: Zara (similar here) // Ring: David Yurman // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lips: Maybeline "Electric Orange"

It is hard to believe it is already May! To bring in the new month, I went bold with color and mixed prints. It is no secret by now that I love black and white stripes. I am pretty sure this love is genetic as my mom has an extensive collection of her own. This structured striped Bec and Bridge blazer from Mulberry Dreams is the perfect spring layer. Even though it has great structure, it is secretly really comfortable due to it's jersey knit fabric. Going full on monochromatic with stripes is instinctual for me, especially in the colder months. So, in the spirit of spring (and almost summer) I felt it was an appropriate departure to choose a bright and fresh lemon yellow.  In keeping with the citrus hues, I finished off with a neon orange lip. There is simply no hiding in this combo!

On another note, thank you for everyone who voted in LookMazing's Who Wore is Best Summer Contest. It was truly an honor to win!!  Stay tuned to LookMazing's blog here to find out who won the giveaway and for an in-depth feature of The Quarter Life Closet coming soon!  I hope everyone has a great weekend and thank you as always for reading!
