Short Suit

Blazer: H&M (old, similar here, here, and here) // Shorts: Zara (similar here) // Cami: J.Crew // Pumps: Schutz // Bag: Gucci // Sunnies: Moorea Seal // Jewelry: David Yurman

Hello Everyone, happy Thursday!  This little suit came together by sheer luck. I purchased this blazer a couple of years ago at H&M, and these shorts a couple of months ago at Zara. I didn't realize it at the time, but they were the exact same fabric! A surprise suit, it is the best kind of suit. Though shorts are not work appropriate in most offices, a short-suit is a chic option for a night out (and not to mention a great transition into Fall). You may even have a short-suit already in your closet! Try pairing your classic navy or black blazer with shorts in a similar hue for a new way to wear your classics. Or check out my picks below to shop the trend. Have a great rest of the week... and thank you as always for reading.

Summer Blues

Dress: Tibi // Shoes: Stuart Weitzman (and here) // Necklace: The Wild Orchid Boutique (similar here) and My Beloved and Co // Bracelets: David Yurman // Ring: David Yurman // Watch: Vintage Rolex // Bag: Tory Burch // Sunnies: RayBan

August in Florida is infamous for humidity, heat, and the occasional hurricane. So lately, I have been living in floaty dresses that allow me to stay cool. To add some interest to this plain blue shift, I chose my gold gladiators, they easily transform the simple into the statement making. My hair is another answer to humidity... a messy up-do seems to only get better when the the weather is hot. I hope everyone is having a great start to the month... the fall cool down is not far away! Thank you as always for reading.

And, I'm Back

Jeans: TopShop // Vest: Theory (similar here and here) // Tank: J.Crew // Sunnies: Moorea Seal (such a steal!) // Bag: Gucci // Shoes: J.Crew (similar here) // Bracelets: David Yurman // Necklace: My Beloved & Co (My best friend Jessica got this for me for my birthday with my Grandmother's birthday in Roman Numerals on it, the sweetest gift ever)

Hi Everyone! This past week I finally took the Florida Bar. Walking out of that exam was like walking back into my life!  After a couple weeks of wearing nothing but comfortable library-appropriate clothing, it is liberating to put on my heels and some of my new favorites that I have yet to wear! Maybe the most exciting addition are my mirrored sunnies. I had been looking at these from J.Crew here and here. However, my dear friend Lauren sent me a little pre-Bar pick me up and wouldn't you know it... they look just like pair I had been wanting but at a much better price! I love when that happens. So thanks Lauren! I am a lucky girl to have such wonderful friends. I hope everyone is having as wonderful of a weekend as I am, and thank you for reading.

LookMazing's Who Wore it Best Contest: Summer Fun

Top: Topshop // Skirt: Nicholas // Sandals: Zara (old, similar here) // Bag: Kate Spade // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lip: Nars 'Yu'

Hello Everyone! I am excited to announce that The Quarter Life Closet has once again teamed up with LookMazing for the Summer Fun Who Wore it Best Contest. LookMazing is a fashion and beauty focused social shopping site that connects bloggers with shoppers. Bloggers are rewarded for making their photos and videos shoppable, while shoppers earn rewards for shopping!  Rewards are earned in the form of points and are redeemable for items in your wishlist from LookMazing’s 250+ partner retailers.

As the winner of the last WWIB contest I was given the amazing opportunity to curate a selection of my favorite summer items for other bloggers to vote on. This tropical leaf crop top was chosen and each blogger (including myself) has styled it in a different way to make it their own. By voting for the blogger who you think had the best look, you enter to win the top for yourself!

I would really appreciate your support! To vote...

1. Sign up for LookMazing and ‘Admire’ me here

2. Vote for me by “winking” at my look here

2. Add the styled product here to your LookMazing Wishlist for a chance to win it!

The winner will be announced on July 18th, 2014 and a voter will also be selected at random to win the product. Good Luck and thank you as always for reading!

American Girl

One: Dress: Gap (wear it without the belt for a babydoll fit) // Vest: J.Crew (30% off with code JULY)// Shoes: Converse // Lips: Bobbi Brown 'Red' // Bag: Badgley Mischka (old, love this here and this here )// Sunnies: Rayban // Ring: David Yurman and BaubleBar
Two: Top: ASOS (love this similar one here) // Skirt: J.Crew (old, love this one here) // Shoes: Kate Spade (old, great navy pumps here) // Lips: Bobbi Brown 'Red'

The Fourth of July is possibly my second favorite holiday; Christmas is in a comfortable first place. But the Fourth has always been so much fun with the beach, cook-outs, fireworks, and of course sporting red, white, & blue. This friday when celebrating America's birthday, take a second to be thankful that we live in an independent nation. Though our Country has it's faults, we are truly lucky that we can live in a place that we are free to pursue our dreams. Yes, the American dream is well and alive, and if we work hard enough we can achieve anything. Even if that thing, is as silly as blogging about fashion. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday with their family and friends, and thank you for reading.
