Happy Thursday.  While at NYFW... impact is key, so for daytime I loved how a full midi skirt felt perfectly Carrie Bradshaw. Recently in my online shopping conquests I have had my eye on matching sets... I love that you can wear them together or wear them separately. Here I paired the  floral skirt with it's matching sheer organza sweatshirt-like companion, and another way with a printed moto-jacket. With both outfits being fully printed, they are equally dramatic making it difficult to decide which look I like the best. But that is the great thing about fashion, nothing is permanent, it is so easy to just change it up.  

On another note...being that it is the 9/11 anniversary, I would like to take a minute to acknowledge all those who lost their lives that day. It is important to never forget and continue to be appreciative of those who fight for our freedom. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful end to the week, and thank you as always for reading.

Happy Monday! Greeting's from NYC! Lauren of the blog Sunshades & Snowflakes and I are in the Big Apple for NYFW and are having the time of our lives. Fashion Week truly is my heaven. I have enjoyed meeting so many awesome people and seeing all of the swoon worthy street style at Lincoln center. I love how easy it is to become inspired here. Speaking of inspiration, this Ann Taylor trench dress has stirred my inner clothing creativity. I love that though it is a dress, it can be worn open as a on-trend vest.  When the weather turns chilly, I plan to layer it over jackets and sweaters, or wear it closed as a dress with tights and boots.  This little chic power-player may just be the most versatile piece in my wardrobe right now!  I hope everyone had a great time with family and friends over Labor Day weekend. My Labor Day ensemble is the perfect way to end the season because it encompasses my favorite trends of Summer 2014. And though I am looking forward to ankle boots, pastel coats and crisp air, I know there will be a time that I will miss the breeziness of a midi skirt and crop top combo. Therefore, as the seasons shift, I am always looking for creative ways to transition my summer staples into fall. For example, wearing a white button down under this crop top and pairing this pleated skirt with a chunky knit sweater. Speaking of fall...  It is hard to believe that it is already Labor Day weekend! Old fashion rules mark this the time of year the last chance to wear white. Well, I think those rules need to be broken. The key to sporting white all year around is to make sure that the white garment is seasonally appropriate. For example... white cashmere in the fall is a big YES; white wool trousers in the winter... that is some magic. I even love juxtaposing your white summer dress with a luxe leather moto jacket like the one above.  White after labor day is all in how you wear it; I'm going to be wearing my whites way into fall!

Happy Wednesday! I found this little mod shift dress with a leather collar recently at Ann Taylor. Not only is it right on trend, I love that it is the perfect "wear now and wear later" dress. Here I paired it with sandals and a bright lip for a casual late summer dinner with family in St. Augustine.
