Collegiate

Sweater: Zara (similar here) // Shirt: Madewell // Jeans: J.Crew (on sale, with an extra 40% off with code shop now) // Loafers: Zara  (similar here and here)// Sunnies: Celine

It is all too appropriate that I kick off a Friday afternoon wearing my weekend uniform. I must admit that I have a the bad habit of neglecting some items in my closet, while others I wear to the brink of destruction. This oversized sweater falls into category number two. It is so cozy and I love that it is preppy, but preppy in a cool, downtown sort of way. I paired my oversized favorite with polished navy loafers. However, to keep things from looking like I raided the men's locker room at a prep school... I went with distressed skinnies. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and thank you as always for reading!

Blazer & Bells

Flares: JBrand (similar here and here) // Blazer: J.Crew (similar here) // Shirt: J.Crew // Bag: Gucci // Sunnies: Celine // Bracelets: Jenny Bird and David Yurman
Happy Wednesday everyone! Personal style is all about self- reflection. As I write this, I reflect on how many different versions of myself I am able to channel when I put together an outfit.  Sometimes I am funky, minimal, and inventive, while other days I am classic, girly and preppy…one could say that my closet has a bad case of schizophrenia. Yet, despite my multiple clothing personality disorder I manage to feel like the girl that I want to be that day, and that my friends is what true fashion is all about. I promise you there is a point to all of this philosophical rambling, which brings me to this ensemble. I believe this outfit has managed to take all of my style personalities and roll them into one. It’s classic, kind of minimal, somewhat preppy, and thanks to the bell bottoms and shimmery tweed… undeniably a little funky. Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! Xo

Leather Layer

Coat: Mango // Leather Jacket: Maje (similar here and here)// Jeans: JBrand //Bag: Vintage Chanel // Hat: Hattattack // Turtleneck: J.Crew // Boots: Zara (similar here)

Happy Monday! Now that I am in Washington D.C. I have learned a lot about what it means to be cold. For example, growing up in Florida a ballet flat was always an acceptable winter shoe. Well, when it is 20 degrees outside, any exposed skin, even on just a short walk to the Metro results in complete numbness. Needless to say I have had to adjust my winter wardrobe mindset. One of the things that I have found that keeps me extremely cozy is layering my leather jacket under a wool coat. I also have found that the insulation factor is taken up a notch when I wear my jacket completely zipped up over a turtleneck. And though I admit, I have succumbed to a heavy parka, I find layering is a much more stylish alternative to being covered in down from head-to-toe. I hope everyone is staying warm out there, and thank you as always for reading.

Double Check

Skirt: Madewell // Shirt: Madewell (also love this one) // Leather Jacket: Maje (similar here) // Coat: Zara (old, similar here) // Boots: Stuart Weitzman // Socks: American Apparel (similar here) // Bag: Kate Spade Saturday // Hat: J.Crew // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lips: Bobbi Brown

Happy Wednesday! Over the summer, I loved mixing stripes with stripes... an example of this can be seen here. So I thought, why couldn't I mix my buffalo plaid check skirt with a top of the same print. The mix of the two pieces gives the impression of it being a full buffalo plaid shirtdress that looks perfectly at home with a cozy layering of my favorite leather jacket and sleek black coat. And just because the holidays have come and gone, doesn't mean pops of red are no longer an option...after all Valentine's day is only next month. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and thank you as always for reading. xox

Weekend Leopard

Sweater: Madewell // Parka: Zara (similar here and here) // Jeans: Madewell // Sneakers: Vans // Hat: Zara (similar here) // Bag: Gucci // Lips: Bobbi Brown

Leopard outerwear is a game changer, however finding the right spotted piece can be quite a task. This one however, was an easy sell for me due to it's weather friendly hood and chic spots. I love how a statement coat can transform a typical all black weekend ensemble into something fresh and unexpected. I hope everyone is having a great Monday, and thank you as always for reading.

Goodbye 2014, Hello 2015

2014 was a year filled of travels, coffee, a lot of laughter, some tears, and a lot of change. Favorites moments include my last spring break in Key West with my family and my best friend Jessica, graduating from law school, my first New York Fashion Week with my partner in crime Lauren, spending time in Dallas with my Mom and Aunt Lana, and my trip to Miami with Rob. Here's to a great 2015 and to making new memories! Happy New Year and thank you as always for reading. xoxo
