Navy is such a versatile neutral, it goes everywhere and with everything. And yes, it even goes with black. It still baffles me that in the age of the modern woman so many are afraid to break antiquated fashion rules. The key to conquering this color palette is to choose a navy on the brighter side and pair it with a deep shade of black. The contrast between the two is complimentary and creates a chic fall ensemble. To shop this fun navy dress by Cameo the Label check out Mulberry Dreams via facebook, instagram, or in-store. Happy Thursday! When I am shopping, I love to find items with that extra oomph in the details. A grey cashmere sweater becomes sporty with an oversized shape and varsity stripes. A great pair of skinny jeans become edgy with the right distressing and a contrast patch. I also love how a bright bag can transform a neutral outfit with one pop of color. Navy and orange are exact opposites on the color wheel, making them the perfect pairing. To complete the look, I added metallic heels to create contrast with an otherwise super casual ensemble. Mix it up and have a great rest of the week, it is almost the weekend!! Thank you as always for reading. xoxo
Hello Everyone! I am loving fuzzy textures, oversized coats, culottes, and windowpane prints for fall. To top off these trendy pieces, I will be mixing in a healthy dose of classics like this wear with everything striped tee, girly fedora, and sleek pointed toe ankle boot (at a great price). I hope you are having a great Wednesday and thank you as always for reading!
Happy Monday! Today TQLC has partnered with Ann Taylor to style their perfect fall staples from the "A-List." Each of these chic and versatile closet must-haves and will take you from office to weekend, all season long.
My favorite A-List items include the leather pencil skirt, the modern legging, the moto jacket, and of course the amazing array of LBDs. I love how the leather pencil adds a little something to an office appropriate skirt. This skirt can be worn with a million things you already own. Here I paired it with the cape-like layering sweater, but it would look equally as amazing with the moto jacket in my last look. Speaking of the moto jacket, this chic staple may be my favorite of the the favorites. I love the soft and modern color that is totally on trend. Here I paired it with the leather shirt dress and chelsea boots, but this great piece goes with jeans, skirts, and beyond.
Ann Taylor's leggings are the best faux leather pair I have ever felt. These babies are super flattering thanks to their thick and structured fabric. Like their real leather counterparts, they would actually be warm for the cooler months to come.
A great LBD is a necessary as air in any woman's closet, and Ann Taylor's LBD shop has one for everybody type and occasion. I love the mod silhouette of the leather shirtdress and the flirty skirt of the laser-cut dress. I paired the laser-cut dress with a shirt underneath to create a preppy office look. But to transition to an after work date, change into heels and lose the shirt underneath!
I hope everyone is as equally inspired by the A-list as I am. To shop these perfect peices head to anntaylor.com. Have great rest of the week and thank you as always for reading!
Happy Friday! Culottes are huge in the fashion world right now, and so is blush. So, when I found a single piece that combined the two... I had the proverbial "two birds with one stone" moment. My friend Lauren expressed to me during our New York travels that she feels culottes are only a trend for a specific body type. Though I understand her initial hesitation, I think these babies are totally universally flattering. If you can wear a skirt, you can wear culottes. To compliment the flowy silk pants, I topped the look off with a structured mohair sweater. I love how the cut feels very Jackie-O and how the gray perfectly compliments the blush creating a soft fall look. I hope everyone has a great weekend and thank you as always for reading.

My going-out outfits are typically characterized by a sea of black. So, having a little rainbow dress in my nighttime arsenal is a nice change of pace. In addition, this colorful piece is a great way to transition from summer brights to fall and winter. By adding my trusty leather moto-jacket it created the right amount of edge to tone down the playful pattern. I also love body-con dresses with a strategically placed print that creates curves and hides any imperfections. Nothing helps you stand out more, than feeling comfortable in your night-out ensemble. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday, and thank you as always for reading.
My last Sunday at NYFW Lauren and I went for a quick coffee and shopping stroll in Soho. After a fun packed trip of absorbing an eye-full of seriously inspiring street style, it lead me to conclude that the perfect wardrobe is really achieved by striking the right balance between trends and staples. Is it is just me, or do you often feel guilty for over-embracing something trendy? And when does a trend find its way into staple world? Fashionable women can spend their whole shopping existences trying to achieve the perfect wardrobe ratio.
The question of this season's overalls have brought this struggle to the forefront of my mind. I really love my overalls, an item that initially entered into my closet as a bit of trendy fun. However, due to their comfort and versatility, the urge to purchase multiples set in. I hesitated getting black ones since I already had a classic blue jean pair and a short leather pair (last seen here and here.)
As it turns out, these feelings of hesitation were completely unfounded. The black ones are so chic and perfect for fall, I have a million ideas swirling in my head of how to wear them. My absolute favorite way to style overalls is to have everything else in the outfit be as ladylike as possible to create contrast with the worker inspired piece. This ensemble would also be great for casual friday, especially with the addition of a blazer.
So basically, I have concluded that multiples in the trend arena are okay, as long as they play well with all (ok, most) of your staples. At least that is what I am telling myself. I hope everyone has a great Monday, and thank you as always for reading.
