As If

Sweatshirt: Madewell // Skirt: Madewell // Jacket: Maje (similar here) // Boots: Stuart Weitzman // Bag: Whistles // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lips: Nars 'Yu' // Jewelry: David Yurman // Ring: c/o Kendra Scott

Happy Monday! This look is inspired by one of my favorite movies of all time, Clueless. I re-watched it not too long ago, and I guess the 90s are back, because most everything Cher and Dion were wearing looked right at home in 2014. If you haven't watched it in a while, it is totally worth a girls night in. I loved this skirt and sweatshirt combo... they look perfect paired together, but also are great as separates for fall and into winter. My little silver backpack, helps to play into this fun school girl vibe. I hope everyone has a great beginning to their week, and thank you as always for reading.

Jumpsuit up

Jumpsuit: For Love and Lemons c/o Mulberry Dreams // Vest: Mango // Belt: J.Crew (old, similar here) // Bag: Vintage Chanel (found one on eBay here, and similar here) //Shoes: Schutz // Gold Bracelet Set: c/o Ann Taylor  (50% of the proceeds go towards fighting breast cancer) // Silver Bracelets: David Yurman // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lips: NARS in Cruella

Happy Wednesday! I have been traveling a lot lately (last week I was in D.C. and this week I'm in Dallas) so I am always looking for day to night pieces that I can dress up or dress down. A jumpsuit is a perfect solution probably because it is a no-brainer all in one outfit. This For Love & Lemons jumpsuit in particular is perfect because you can wear it to work with a jacket (or vest), and remove it for a night out to expose the open lace back. Head to Mulberry Dreams' Facebook or Instagram to shop this jumpsuit and other great pieces. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and thank you as always for reading.

Falling for Fall

Blanket scarf: Zara (love this similar one here and here)  // Sweater: Zara (similar here) // Hat: HatAttack Jeans: Madewell // Boots: Stuart Weitzman (similar and less expensive here and here) // Bag: Gucci // Lips: Nars in Train Bleu // Ring: David Yurman

Happy Monday! Last week I was in D.C. and I was thrilled to experience some real fall weather. Not that Florida weather isn't beautiful, but this time of year it is falling leaves and crisp air for the win. I wore this outfit to dinner in Georgetown with Rob. We decided to walk and I was happy to have the additional warmth of this blanket scarf that I wore as a cape. I love how something as simple as a well-styled accessory can transform a basic grey and black outfit. I hope everyone has a great week and thank you as always for reading.

Wine & Wedgewood

Skirt: Tibi (old, but similar here)// Sweater: Topshop // Coat: Topshop // Shoes: Louise te' Cie // Bag: Tory Burch // Sunnies: Karen Walker 'Anywhere

Happy Wednesday! Today on TQLC I am happy to announce that I am going to be a regular contributor on the lifestyle and fashion blog: Fashiony Fab, created by the lovely Maru Ramirez. For my first Fashiony feature I wanted to highlight one of my favorite statements for the fall: Monochromatic dressing. Hitting the mark in monochrome is achieved by combining different textures of the same color. The shine of my skirt is complimented perfectly by a fuzzy cropped sweater, the texture of my embossed shoe, and the pebbled leather of my bag. The effect of this mix creates a lot of depth and richness, and will make even basic pieces look expensive. For this particular look, I used the color of the season: bordeaux. This deep burgundy shade is both luxurious and professional and looks great as an accent or worn from head-to-toe. To top off this single-toned ensemble, I added a wedgwood blue textured coat. I know what you are thinking... I am breaking the monochromatic rules by adding another color! However for the sake of outerwear, the calm blue creates contrast and pops against the otherwise singular-toned outfit. I can't express enough how I love mixing pastels with traditionally fall colors. So have fun this fall by experimenting with mixing textures and wearing a lot of color! I hope you have a great rest of the week and thank you for reading!

Nordstrom Jacksonville Opening Gala

Bloggers Danielle from Just Dandy and Haley from Sequins and Things

Dress: Milly (also here) // Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff // Shoes: Schutz

The first Nordstrom has opened in Northeast Florida, and it is right here in my hometown of Jacksonville! To celebrate this joyous occasion, Nordstrom hosted a Gala to benefit three local charities: the Junior League of Jacksonville, The Cathedral Arts Project, and Wolfson's Children Hospital. The Gala was simply amazing, the sold out event included the biggest names in Jacksonville and helped raise over $105,000. I was really impressed by the array of designers Nordstrom has brought to the first coast, including Helmut Lang, Vince, and Elizabeth and James just to name a few. This store has with a doubt upped the local shopping ante. In addition to the wonderful food, music, and shopping, it was great to meet other local bloggers as well as the new Nordstrom Jacksonville team. Thank you to Kelly Skahan for allowing me to be included in this fabulous event, and a very special thank you to Theresa Childs  for being my one woman camera crew, and the best date to the gala a girl could have. I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday and thank you as always for reading.
