Happy Monday! Bright colors always put me in a good mood, and what better day and place to be in a good mood than Monday at the office? I work in a creative enviorment, so it's ok for me to take risks. Pairing brights that are contrasting works by keeping everything solid and simple. It's also important that all of these separates are work appropriate, i.e. the pencil skirt hits at the top of the knee and the pump had a mild heel height. The brighter the colors the more subdued the actual garmet needs to be for 9 to 5 dressing. I hope everyone has a great start to their week and thank you as always for reading.

Springtime Stroll
Shorts: Zara ( similar here) // Top: Rachel Zoe (last year, love these cropped white tops here and here ) // Bag: Fendi // Shoes: Jack Rogers // Sunnies: Celine
Hello and happy mid-week! It has been a beautiful early May in DC so far, and I have taken every opportunity I can to enjoy the season. I wore this outfit last Sunday on a stroll through Georgetown with Rob. We stopped by the waterfront for drinks and ended up taking a ride on a friend's boat. And though I didn't plan for a day on the water, I was feeling quite nautically appropriate in my striped shorts. Maybe my outfit planned my event, instead of the other way around! I hope you have a great rest of your Wednesday and thank you as always for reading.

Gold Cup
Dress: Tibi // Bag: Serupi Marie // Sunnies: Tory Burch // Wedges: Tory Burch (new version here and here) // Hat: J.Crew // Jewelry: David Yurman and House of Harlow
Happy Monday! Over the weekend I attended the Virginia Gold Cup! Though it's a little smaller scale than the Kentucky Derby, I loved watching the horses run and sipping on mint juleps. In anticipation of this event, I spent a great deal of time trying to find the perfect dress. I fell in love with this white Tibi option because it was the perfect balance of chic and feminine. Not to mention, off-the-shoulder dresses and tops are really big for the summer. I paired my sundress with a raffia minaudière for a pop of color, and my mirrored cat eye sunnies to add a small dose of edginess to this otherwise sweet outfit. I hope everyone has a great week, and thank you as always for reading.

Spring Denim with Alixandra Collections
Jeans: DL1961 c/o Alixandra Collection // Kimono: Ark & Co c/o Alixandra Collections // Tank: J.Crew // Bag: Fendi // Shoes: Zara (similar here) // Sunnies: Rayban
Happy Wednesday! I love this time of year when all the trees and grass are back to being lush and green, the air is crisp yet mild, and color is everywhere. All I want to do is be outside!
The transition from cooler to warmer temps does pose some what of a fashion conundrum. I want to be seasonally appropriate, but I also know that it gets a little chilly when the sun goes down. This outfit is my perfect solution. My kimono from Alixandra Collections is a versatile little completer piece that I can wear now as a light layer, and later in the summer over a white bikini. The wash of these distressed jeans is also perfect for the transition into spring. The fit is a real Goldie Locks situation: not too tight, not too loose...just right. To shop this pair and other great spring designer denim check out Alixandra Collections. I hope you are having a wonderful week and as always thank you for reading!

Culottes // Leather // Fringe
Culottes: Rebecca Taylor // Vest: Theory // Sunnies: Moorea Seal (similar here and here) // Shoes: Zara (similar here) // Bag: Zara (similar here)
Happy Monday everyone! I'm a pretty big fan of culottes and I often wonder why so many of my friends claim they can't pull them off. The easiest way to to conquer the trend is to style them the way you would a midi skirt. Visually and proportionally the two are very similar, and let's get real, Rob's first question was whether I was wearing pants or a skirt. So, when styling culottes reach for crop tops (floaty or fitted), tailored shirts and structured jackets. Here I decided to add a little edge to my girly, white poplin pair and wear them with my leather vest zipped up as a shirt. I hope you have a great start to the week, and thanks as always for reading!

TQLC x Brittany Fuson
Vest: J.Crew // Shorts: J.Crew // Top: Zara // Bag: c/o Ann Taylor // Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff // Sunnies: Tory Burch
Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I am excited to be partnering with the crazy talented fashion illustrator Brittany Fuson! As many of you know, I started my blog while I was living in Oxford, MS during law school. After seeing the Tennessee native's prints and an illustration of my friend in her bridal gown, I knew I wanted Brittany to design my blog logo. Now, two years later, her adorable prints continue to grace my blog and bedroom.
I am also excited that the weather is finally mild enough to wear this spring suit. Matched sets are really big right now and I loved this one's soft lilac color. Though I love the way the set looks together, I will also be wearing these pieces separately in a hundred different ways.
To shop Brittany's prints and more check out her website here. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Brittany also has the cutest online boutique Hogan Road that has some fantastic accessories. I hope you are having a great mid-week and thanks as always for reading!
