Bows on Toes

Shirt: J.Crew (On sale and an extra 40% off with code JINGLE)// Shoes: Kate Spade // Jeans: Topshop // Jacket: Maje (similar here, and 30% off your entire purchase with code WRAPITUP) // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lips: Stile 'Fiore'

Hello and happy Wednesday! Since we are officially half way to the weekend I wanted to discuss one of my favorite weekend styling schemes: the classic combo of jeans, t-shirt, and pumps. Ok, so this combination can be very boring if you are not careful, so choosing pieces that have a little more oomph will keep you from looking too basic. For example: this comfy black sweatshirt is deceptively fancy with a silk ruffle hem. My jeans have a trendy high waist and just the right amount of distressing, and well, these pumps with their jewel bow couldn’t be more holiday party ready. I love that I wore them to a black tie event, and I can also throw them on with jeans. All that’s left is to toss on my leather jacket and I am good to go for Saturday night of dinner and drinks.

Minimal Chic

Shoes: Madewell // Turtleneck: Mason // Shirt: Madewell // Jeans: JBrand // Clutch: Zara (very similar here and here) // Sunnies: Karen Walker

Happy Monday! One of the key basics every woman should own is a pair of black flats. You would think that this acquisition would be easy enough, right? Well, to find a pair that are comfortable, chic and don’t make you look completely boring takes some serious searching. That is when I recently stumbled upon this Madewell pair. I love their menswear inspired shape, their shine, and most of all… no blisters in sight. My new shoes inspired the rest of my minimal outfit that makes me feel kind of like a Parisian artiste!  I added my fluffy blush clutch to break up the black and add a fun element to this otherwise simple ensemble. I hope everyone has a great start to the week, and as always, thank you for reading.

Vineyard Weekend

Jacket: Fillmore (It's waterproof!) // Vest: J.Crew (On sale and an additional 30% off with code MERRYCARD using your J.Crew card) // Sweater: c/o Ann Taylor  // Shirt: Madewell // Jeans: JBrand  (also love the way Madewell jeans fit here) // Hat: J.Crew (On sale and an additional 30% off with code MERRYCARD using your J.Crew card) / Boots: Stuart Weitzman // Bag: Gucci // Lips: Bobbi Brown 'Red' // Sunnies: Rayban

Happy Friday! I wore this outfit last weekend on a Saturday trip to Cana Vineyards in the Virginia countryside. While the weather was cold and rainy, I managed to stay plenty warm thanks to a lot of layers, and a glass or two of red wine. Speaking of warm, one of my favorite purchases of late is this cozy red cashmere hat.  It’s a great way to add a pop of color to an outfit and it is perfect for the holidays. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and thank you for reading.

Festive & Minimal

Top: Rachel Zoe // Pants: Zara (similar here)// Shoes: Valentino // Bag: Celine // Sunnies: Karen Walker // Lips: Bobbi Brown 'Red'

Happy Wednesday! I don't know about you, but I have been on the serious hunt for Christmas party attire lately. Looking festive and not over doing it is a hard balance to strike. I was thrilled when I found this white rabbit fur trip knit top. It says "happy holidays" without being a themed piece. And I love how its simple cut and pretty ivory color gives off a minimal vibe that is perfectly complimented by a classic leather pant. To add a little glam, my rockstud pumps are the perfect dose of twinkle. I hope you have a very merry time at all of the holiday events these next couple weeks and thank you as always for reading!

Winter Pastels

Coat: Topshop  // Sweater: Rebecca Taylor (now on sale!) // Jeans: Madewell // Hat: c/o Ann Taylor // Backpack: Whistles // Boots: Zara (similar here and here)// Sunnies: Karen Walker

Happy Monday! I wore this outfit Christmas shopping over the weekend with Rob in Georgetown . We had a great time seeing all of the Christmas decorations on our walk down, and I hope I dropped enough hints while shopping as to what I wanted to see under the tree this year. Since it was a pretty cold day, I was smart to wear my warmest sweater. When I paired my lilac knit with an equally soft blue, I really loved the combo. Not only is it fresh and unexpected, it also looks great paired with gray, silver and of course, black. This versatility makes lilac and blue an easy color palette to work into your existing wardrobe. I also highly recommend the backpack trend for shopping days. It's a different kind of hands-free freedom than a crossbody because your bag is completely out of your way. This of course allows you the ability to carry even more presents home! I hope everyone has a great start to the week, and thank you as always for reading!

Navy & Red

Coat: c/o Ann Taylor // Sweater: c/o Ann Taylor // Skirt: J.Crew (old, similar here) // Boots: Hunter // Tights: J.Crew // Lips: Bobbi Brown 'Red'

Happy hump day!! In honor of the holidays I am wearing one of my favorite Christmas gifts... my hunter boots. If you don't already own a pair I suggest adding them to your wish list. I paired my bright red wellies with all navy and a hint of soft blue to create a classic nautical color pallete.  I hope you have a great rest of the week, and thank you as always for reading!

Shine

Pants: J.Crew  // Vest: J.Crew // Turtleneck: J.Crew // Shoes: Schutz // Hat: J.Crew (old, similar here) // Bag: Gucci // Lips: Bobbi Brown 'Red' // Bracelet: Jenny Bird (not exact, but another Jenny Bird bracelet here)

Happy Cyber Monday! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed time with family and friends. Now that turkey day has come and gone, the real holiday fun begins, and that means... shopping. Now, I am totally aware that the true meaning of Christmas has nothing to do with the retail experience. However, there is certainly nothing wrong with giving the perfect gift or having a great new outfit to wear to a holiday party. Which brings me to these pants. Metallic pieces are a great way to add a festive touch to your wardrobe. I love that they add shine, but are decidedly different than the usual sequin pieces. Just like sequins, metallics look equally at home dressed up or down. Here I chose to pair my gold trousers with a sleek turtleneck and a casual puffer vest... I love how the vest's subtle shine plays off the pants. To add even more off a holiday touch, a red lip never fails.Have wonderful rest of your week, and thank you as always for reading.
